Egyptian president checks progress rate of modernizing seaports, road networks

CAIRO – 5 January 2025: President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi met Sunday with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Minister of Transport and Industry Kamel al-Wazir, and Presidential Advisor for Urban Planning Amir Sayed.

The purpose of the meeting is checking the progress rate of introducing new and upgrading existing seaports. In that context, the president instructed accelerating the construction of road networks and extension of railway lines that connect industrial cities with seaports equipped with massive logistic zones.

The meeting also included the updates of transport projects with African states, and that consist of roads, maritime and inland shipping lines, and railways. That is in addition to those pertinent to the high-speed electric train, and chances of introducing new factories that would fulfill local needs.
