CAIRO- 5 January 2025: Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of Mark will lead the Coptic Christmas Mass at the new capital’s Cathedral, on Monday evening at 7:00 P.M. local time.
Last year, Pope Tawadros II and Coptic clergymen designated Koiak, the fourth month of the Coptic Calendar, to pray for the people of Palestine.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi sent a delegate on Saturday to convey Christmas greetings to the Seventh-day Adventist community, according to the state news agency MENA.
He delegated Police Major General Diaa Eddin Fathy to greet the sect and attend their Christmas celebrations.
Sisi has previously extended his greetings to Egyptian Copts abroad, as well as to kings, presidents, and leaders around the world for the Christmas occasion.
Preparations for Christmas celebrations at the Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Alexandria and other Orthodox churches have been finalized, with events scheduled for Monday night and Tuesday morning.
