CAIRO – 4 January 2025: Egypt on Saturday launched postage stamps to mark more than a century of Egyptian diplomacy and commemorate the founding of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat and Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty participated in the launch ceremony, which took place at the foreign ministry’s Tahrir Palace.

Talaat presented four postage stamps to Abdelatty, showcasing the main headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs over the past century.

This initiative reflects the well-established Egyptian diplomacy and its ongoing commitment to serving Egypt's interests and national security.

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs observes Egyptian Diplomacy Day on March 15 each year, coinciding with the anniversary of the re-establishment of the ministry following Egypt's declaration of independence from Britain on February 28, 1922.

The first headquarters of the ministry was located in Bab al-Louq, within the Bustan Palace owned by King Fouad.

The four postage stamps released commemorate the ministry's various headquarters, including this first location, as well as Tahrir Palace (1930), the Maspero building (1994), and the New Administrative Capital (2024).
