Sisi delegates envoy to extend Christmas greetings to Seventh-day Adventists

CAIRO – 4 January 2025: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi sent a delegate on Saturday to convey Christmas greetings to the Seventh-day Adventist community, according to the state news agency MENA.

He delegated Police Major General Diaa Eddin Fathy to greet the sect and attend their Christmas celebrations.

Sisi has previously extended his greetings to Egyptian Copts abroad, as well as to kings, presidents, and leaders around the world for the Christmas occasion.

Preparations for Christmas celebrations at the Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Alexandria and other Orthodox churches have been finalized, with events scheduled for Monday night and Tuesday morning.

Security has been heightened around the Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Alexandria.

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced that the upcoming Tuesday will be an official paid holiday for public and private sector employees.
