Egypt made great strides in achieving actual empowerment of youth, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs

CAIRO – 2 January 2025: Egypt’s Minister of Parliamentary, Legal Affairs and Political Communication, Counselor Mahmoud Fawzy, stressed that the Egyptian state, under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, has been keen to empower youth.

He noted that this keenness was embodied in the presidential initiatives to qualify youth and establish training entities, headed by the National Academy for Training and Youth Rehabilitation.

He also stressed that the country has made great strides in achieving actual empowerment of youth, which has appeared and become clear in assuming a large number of them [youth] leadership positions at the level of government, governorates and parliamentary councils.

These statements came during Fawzy’s participation in an open dialogue with students, deans and professors of the university during a meeting entitled "Empowering Youth.. A Dream.. Became Reality", and the meeting witnessed a distinguished presence of students and faculty members, as several axes related to empowering youth and enhancing their role in society were discussed.

This comes within the framework of the role of the Ministry of Parliamentary and Legal Affairs in political communication tasks and its keenness to enhance communication with youth and raise political and parliamentary awareness.

The Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Legal Affairs and Political Communication pointed out the role of the National Dialogue in empowering youth, starting with assigning the task of organizing the National Dialogue with a direct assignment to the National Youth Conference, and fully relying on youth elements in forming the technical secretariat of the dialogue, and even allocating a committee for youth within the community axis of the dialogue, passing through the diversity of youth attendance, who participated in the various sessions with their opinions and suggestions.

He also stressed the role of youth in the National Dialogue and their participation in formulating recommendations and suggestions on national issues.
