CAIRO- 1 January 2025: Egyptian Meteorological Authority revealed that the lowest temperatures are expected to be recorded, on Thursday, as the minimum temperatures in Cairo are 11 degrees, and in Saint Catherine the temperature reaches below zero. As in northern Upper Egypt the minimum temperatures reach 6 degrees.
The Egyptian Meteorological Authority expects that, Thursday, January 2, the weather will be cold during the day in most parts, warm in South Sinai and the south of the country, very cold at night and in the early morning in most parts, reaching the point of frost on crops in central Sinai and parts of the Western Desert.
The Authority indicated that morning fog is expected, which may sometimes be dense on some agricultural and express roads and those close to water bodies leading to and from Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the North Coast and the Canal cities.
It pointed out that winds are expected to be active at times in Greater Cairo and southern Upper Egypt.
The Meteorological Authority explained the expected maximum and minimum temperatures on Thursday as follows:
Greater Cairo: Highs of 19 degrees - lows of 11 degrees
Alexandria: Highs of 20 degrees - lows of 11 degrees
Marsa Matrouh: Highs of 18 degrees – lows of 10 degrees
Sohag: Highs of 22 degrees – lows of 6 degrees
Qena: Highs of 23 degrees – lows of 8 degrees
Aswan: Highs of 25 degrees -– lows of 9 degrees
