7 babies died due to cold weather in Gaza

CAIRO - 1 January 2025: A total of 7 babies died due to extreme cold in Gaza, according to A medical official in the Gaza Strip.

 

The director of field hospitals at the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip confirmed that there are not enough clothes or blankets to protect the displaced Palestinians during the cold weather.

 

He stressed that the Strip needs medical teams and field hospitals.

 

The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the Israeli occupation committed two massacres in the Gaza Strip within 48 hours, of which 12 martyrs and 41 wounded arrived at hospitals, while 27 other Palestinians were martyred in Israeli raids on several areas in the Gaza Strip since dawn Wednesday.

 

The Ministry of Health in Gaza revealed the number of martyrs rose to 45,553, and the number of injured reached 108,379 injured since October 7, 2023.

 

Rainwater also flooded more than 1,500 tents housing displaced people in the Gaza Strip due to a low pressure system that led to a significant drop in temperatures and frost waves that hit different areas of the Strip during the past two days.

 

The Civil Defense announced that it had monitored hundreds of tents where the level of rainwater reached more than 30 centimeters, which caused many displaced people to suffer from shivering, in addition to damaging their belongings and mattresses.
