Egypt’s temperatures will be touching 3-4 °C for 1st time, Climate Information Center

CAIRO – 30 December 2024:  Head of the Climate Information Center at the Ministry of Agriculture, Mohamed Ali Fahim, said that there is a great control of the very cold and humid northern mass with a significant and sudden drop in temperatures especially during the day.

He added in statements, on Monday that for the first time Egypt’s temperature will be touching 3-4 °C at night to prevail a very cold winter atmosphere.

Fahim added that there are expectations of frost formation in the regions of Central Egypt, southern Upper Egypt, southern Sinai and the western desert hinterland of the Delta.

Head of the Climate Information Center pointed out that there are heavy rains that started from the northwestern coastal areas and reached the northern Delta areas "Alexandria - Beheira - Kafr El-Sheikh - Damietta - Port Said" and will continue throughout the week at intermittent periods between light to medium heavy and may reach the southern Delta and Cairo during the middle of the week.

Forecasts indicate that very cold and active northwestern winds will blow, which will increase the feeling of a cold spell.
