Egyptian president learns about plans to develop religious discourse

CAIRO – 30 December 2024: President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi met Monday with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Minister of Endowments Osama al-Azhary to learn about the plan set to develop the ministry's work.

The plan's axes include qualifying Imams to deliver a moderate religious discourse, by making them attend lectures by specialists in humanities and social studies, and studying the possibility of launching an initiative to restore Katatib "Kuran classes in rural areas."

The president was also briefed on the outcomes of the last meeting of the Arab Endowments Union's general assembly. He also learnt about plans to develop the hospital dedicated to providing healthcare to Imams.
