CAIRO – 30 December 2024: Embassy of The United States of America in Cairo, mourned on Monday former U.S. President Jimmy Carter who passed away, Sunday at the age of 100 years old.
“Today, we mourn the loss of President Jimmy Carter. A champion for peace and human rights, Carter's 100-years were marked by compassion, integrity, and service. A devoted husband, humanitarian, and an advocate for safe and affordable housing, his legacy will inspire generations to come,” the embassy wrote on Facebook.
Egypt President Abdel Fattah al Sisi extended on Monday his condolences over the passing of former U.S. President Jimmy Carter.
“In this moment of sorrow, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the family of former American President Jimmy Carter, as well as to the President and the people of the United States of America.” President Sisi said.
Sisi added that, “President Carter was a symbol of humanitarian efforts and diplomacy, as his profound faith in peace and justice has inspired many individuals and institutions around the world to follow his footsteps. His significant role in achieving the peace agreement between Egypt and Israel will remain etched in the annals of history, and his humanitarian work exemplifies a lofty standard of love, peace, and brotherhood. His enduring legacy ensures that he will be remembered as one of the world's most prominent leaders in service to humanity.
May God have mercy on former President Jimmy Carter.”
