CAIRO – 28 December 2024: Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Mabouly arrived in Mehalla el Kubra (in Egypt’s Delta) to inspect the factories of Misr Spinning and Weaving Company, on Saturday.
He listened to a detailed explanation about the factories and the efficiency improvements that have been carried out.
The Minister of Public Business Sector Mohamed Sheemi had reviewed a report on the development of the cotton, spinning, and weaving sector, explaining the status of raw material cultivation, including short-staple cotton, Egyptian cotton, as well as the polyester production project.
The minister also reviewed the project for the development of the spinning and weaving sector, highlighting the targeted production capacities before and after the development in spinning, weaving, and ready-made garments.
Sheemi also outlined the investments made so far to develop all the spinning and weaving company factories and enhance their efficiency, noting that the implementation has reached highly advanced levels, which will contribute to the advancement of this sector.
The Prime Minister will also inspect a number of new factories, in addition to visiting the new power station that has been established to meet the energy needs of the new factories in the city.
For his part, Managing Director of the Holding Company for Cotton, Spinning, and Weaving, Ahmed Shaker stated that the company derived its strategic vision from Egypt's Vision 2030, emphasizing that Egypt has the capabilities to compete in the global market.
He explained that the factories of Misr Company for Artificial Silk and Polyester Fibers have been reactivated after a 12-year hiatus, and they have achieved a total export volume of $2.3 million.
