CAIRO – 23 December 2024: Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Movement, Ziyad al-Nakhalah, and his deputy, Mohammed al-Hindi, left Cairo on Monday after holding important and constructive discussions with Egyptian officials regarding the war on Gaza.
During their visit to Cairo that lasted several days, the Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Movement and his deputy met with Egyptian officials in addition to delegations of Palestinian factions present in Cairo, according to a brief statement by the movement.
The meetings held by the Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Movement and his deputy focused on the efforts and endeavors made by Egypt to cease fire, restore calm in Gaza, increase relief aid to the people of the Strip and alleviate their suffering.
A leading source in the Islamic Jihad Movement described these meetings as positive and constructive, and that they enhance the Palestinian consensus supporting the Egyptian efforts aimed at stopping the fire in the Gaza Strip.
The delegations of the Palestinian factions expressed great satisfaction with the Egyptian role and the efforts made by Egypt, led by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, to contribute to ending the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian forces expressed in a statement their deep thanks and appreciation for the Egyptian efforts, and the factions expressed their confidence in Egypt's ability to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people, stop the war of extermination that the Gaza Strip is being subjected to, and secure the entry of aid in large and sufficient quantities.
