VIDEO: Defense minister, pilots discuss method of planning, implementing tasks to protect Egypt's skies

CAIRO – 22 December 2024: Minister of Defense Abdel Mageed Saqr engaged in discussions with multiple army pilots regarding the strategic planning and execution of their assigned duties aimed at safeguarding Egypt's airspace and ensuring its security across diverse situations.

The minister made the remarks as he made an inspection visit to an airbase, accompanied with Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Ahmed Khalifa, commanders of the main branches, and several army leaders, the army spokesman said in a statement on Sunday.

He also followed the implementation of the take-off of a number of fighter aircraft to carry out a training mission, reflecting the ability of the Air Force fighters to perform the tasks with high accuracy and efficiency.

The minister visited a ground exhibition featuring a number of multi-role aircraft and fighters, and listened to a detailed explanation of the latest combat systems, weapons, and aviation equipment in these aircraft.

Saqr also checked on one of the air combat training courses carried out with the participation of Egyptian Air Force fighters and personnel of the air forces of friendly and sisterly countries.

He welcomed the pilots of the participating countries in the various training courses on Egyptian soil, stressing the keenness of the Armed Forces to support the prospects of military cooperation and exchange of expertise with the armies of friendly and brotherly countries.

Several air sorties were also carried out in this regard, demonstrating the ability to carry out joint air operations.
