CAIRO – December 21, 2024: Winter just kicked in on December 21, 2024, and the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) says we can expect some warm days ahead across most areas this week.

Over the coming days, Cairo, the Nile Delta, the North Coast, and northern Upper Egypt are looking at temperatures between 17 and 20 degrees Celsius at daytime.

But, if you're down south in Upper Egypt around Aswan and Luxor, get ready for a toastier 24 degrees.

Nights are a different story. Cairo will cool down to about 12 degrees, possibly hitting 10 later in the week.

In places like the North Coast and southern Upper Egypt, temperatures could dip to 9 by Tuesday and stick around there until the weekend.

Now, if you're in northern Upper Egypt, get those extra blankets out because nighttime temps are plunging to a frosty 4 degrees!

EMA's got a heads-up for Central Sinai and St. Catherine, where the mountains are sky-high and the temperatures are going seriously low. Expect a bone-chilling 1 degree at night in St. Catherine.

Also keep an eye out for some morning mist along the agricultural roads and near water surfaces, plus a chance of light to moderate showers on the North Coast and northern Upper Egypt.
