CAIRO – 16 December 2024: President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi received Monday a phone call from King of Bahrain Hamad Bin Eissa Al-Khalifa as they discussed the updates in Gaza Strip, Lebanon and Syria.
Regarding Gaza, the two leaders asserted the necessity of a ceasefire, captive-hostage swap, pacification, unconditional and smooth delivery of humanitarian aid. As for Lebanon and Syria, they stressed the importance of maintaining their unity and territorial integrity, warning of the expansion of the scope of conflict, which in turn, would jeopardize chances of reinstating peace and security in the Middle East.
In that framework, President Sisi expressed Egypt's eagerness for the security of the Gulf as it is a cornerstone of "Arab national security."
The call also tackled reinforcing bilateral ties in all fields, trade exchange, and investments. Both chiefs of state also underscored that all Arab countries must work together to mitigate the negative impact of regional crises on economic conditions.
