Deputy Prime Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar stated Sunday that Bedaya Presidential Initiative delivered 154,077,255 services since its launching in September.
The services included vocational training to women, awareness sessions on the importance of the first 1,000 days in the life of children, charity activities, grants, compensations, financial assistance pertinent to tuition fees and marriage, registration of the disabled to facilitate access to relevant programmes/services, registration of eligible families to the monetary subsidies programme Takaful w Karama, and, medical services, including contraceptive provision.
On the front of economic empowerment, Bedaya financed 12,307 micro and small businesses belonging to youth and families enrolled at subsidies programme. In a similar context, 32 individuals and 450 individuals were able to find jobs through the initiative.
Further, financial inclusion lectures were delivered with a turnout of 2,200 women. Also, lectures on agricultural and veterinary practices were delivered with a turnout of 5,885 individuals. That is in addition to delivering 97,869 free-of-charge veterinary services.
On another level, climate change awareness sessions were delivered to 1,285 students.
