CAIRO - 14 December 2024: Egypt condemns Israel's incursion into the buffer zone with Syria and occupation of Syrian territories, Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdel Aaty said Saturday at Arab the Ministerial Contact Committee on Syria.
Abdel Aaty said at meeting held in Aqaba, Jordan, that Israel’s violation of the 1974 disengagement agreement between Syria and Israel constitutes a violation of international law.
He also condemned the systematic Israeli raids that targeted the infrastructure of the Syrian army and its military capabilities.
The minister called for preserving the unity and integrity of the Syrian territories and respecting its sovereignty, as well as supporting state institutions to enhance their capabilities to serve the Syrian people.
Abdel Aaty also called for a comprehensive political process with pure Syrian ownership that includes all segments of the society and its political and social forces to achieve national reconciliation and ensure the success of the transitional process.
