CAIRO - 12 December 2024: Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly met Thursday evening with Sherif Fathy, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, to discuss ways to stimulate investment in the tourism sector, in the presence of Ahmed Nabil, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities.
The Prime Minister stressed that the tourism sector is one of the important files on the Egyptian state's agenda, as work is being done according to clear targets to increase hotel rooms in many tourist attractions, in an effort to double the incoming tourist movement to Egypt, and provide all the components that guarantee a distinguished experience for tourists, given its promising potential and unique destinations.
The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities presented the results of two meetings held with the Egyptian Federation of Tourist Chambers, and representatives of a number of tourism investor associations; to discuss ways to stimulate tourism investment, as well as discuss the various initiatives provided by the state to encourage tourism investment, and existing and potential partnerships between the government and the tourism sector.
The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities pointed out that these proposals included facilitating a number of procedures related to hotel and tourist facilities to improve the investment climate in the tourism sector, in addition to working on formulating a promotional strategy for investment opportunities in this sector, and encouraging the building of partnerships between the public and private sectors to implement these projects.
