CAIRO – 12 December 2024: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty has reiterated Egypt's call for respecting Syria's sovereignty and the unity and integrity of its territories.
This came during a phone call he received Thursday from Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad Mohamed Ali Nafti, where developments in the situation in Syria were discussed.
The two top diplomats discussed the importance of concerted regional and international efforts to restore stability throughout Syrian territories and deal with the situation in a way that upholds the interests of the Syrian people with discrimination and preserves their unity.
Abdelatty said the current critical situation in Syria requires launching a comprehensive national political process without external dictates or interference.
He also said the unity and stability of Syria need to be respected, calling for an inclusive approach that brings together all the country's national forces.
The contact between both ministers reflected their agreement on the basic principles that should be built upon to achieve stability in Syria.
