CAIRO – 10 December 2024: Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Badr Abdel Aati said upon his arrival to Dublin, that several meetings are scheduled to be held at the highest level in Ireland during the visit of President Sisi aiming to develop relations between Egypt.
Abdel Aati pointed out in televised statements that Ireland was among the four countries that recognized the Palestinian state, and therefore discussing the Palestinian file and the catastrophic conditions in the Gaza Strip is at the top of the files for this visit, which will be discussed during President Sisi's talks with the leaders in Ireland, in addition to the situation of the Syrian crisis and the situation in Sudan.
He explained that the investment file receives great attention on President Sisi's agenda, who was keen to meet with the largest companies in Denmark and Norwegian, especially the ones operating in Egypt, and there will be an economic component in Ireland and a focus on attracting more investment in Egypt.
Abdel Aati spoke about Egypt's position on supporting the Syrian crisis, saying: "The Egyptian position is clear on the Syrian crisis, which is to side with the will of the Syrian people.”
Badr Abdel Aati added on the sidelines of President Sisi's visit to Ireland, that the Egyptian state hopes that the transition process in Syria will be smooth and peaceful and take into consideration launching a comprehensive political process that does not exclude anyone and expresses societal, religious, sectarian and ethnic diversity.
He stressed that everyone must be represented in this transitional process and that this process must be owned by the Syrians.
