CAIRO - 7 December 2024: The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population announced Saturday that it received 55 million, 547 thousand, and 334 visits from women to undergo examinations and receive awareness services, as part of the President's sustainable initiative to support the health of Egyptian women, since its launch in July 2019 until the end of last November.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the total number of visits is divided into 22 million, 319 thousand, and 64 first-time visits, 21 million, 30 thousand, and 569 periodic visits, and 12 million, 197 thousand, and 701 occasional visits.
The official spokesperson called on women to periodically check on their health through the services provided by the sustainable initiative, stressing that early diagnosis and detection of breast tumors contributes to reducing the burden on the patient and the state through effective response to the treatment protocols provided by the initiative for free, according to the latest international standards.
Abdel Ghaffar stated that 760,516 women visited hospitals to undergo advanced examinations within the initiative, noting that the initiative provides its free services to examine women through 3,663 health units across the governorates of the republic, in addition to the participation of 102 hospitals to provide medical services to those whose condition requires an advanced examination, pointing out that inquiries are received through the "100 Million Health" initiative hotline on 15335.
Abdel Ghaffar added that the initiative follows the latest international protocols for treating breast cancer, through 14 centers affiliated with the Ministry of Health and Population, in addition to activating these protocols in 14 centers affiliated with the Supreme Council of University Hospitals for free, noting that these centers are being equipped for applied research with the aim of reaching advanced research centers in the treatment of tumors, within the vision of the political leadership to care for the public health of citizens.
