Egypt’s FM Abdelatty discusses latest Syrian developments with Russian counterpart

CAIRO – 4 December 2024:  Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdelatty discussed on Wednesday the latest developments in the Syrian with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov in a phone call.

During the call, Minister Abdel Aati affirmed Egypt's firm and supportive stance towards the Syrian state, its sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity, stressing the utmost importance of protecting civilians in light of the dire repercussions of these developments on the security and stability of Syria and the entire region.

The two sides agreed on the importance of continuing the pace of joint coordination between the two countries.

Abdelatty and Lavrov exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East, especially with regard to developments in Sudan, as well as the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, where they agreed on the need to reach an immediate ceasefire and unconditional access to humanitarian aid.
