CAIRO – 4 December 2024:  Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatiates Affairs Badr Abdelatty said on Wednesday that Egypt hosted the first forum of Sudanese political and civil forces last July, and it was a very important meeting, adding that “we also intend to host the second edition of it with the participation of all political spectrums and forces.”

Abdel Aati added, in statements to al Qahera news channel on the sidelines of his visit to Sudan, that Cairo is ready for anything that contributes to restoring stability to Sudan, stopping war, and ending the bloodshed of the brotherly Sudanese people.

“We completely reject any foreign interference or dictates or foreign intervention in Sudan because the solution must be Sudanese, and what the Sudanese agree upon is something that naturally pleases us and receives all the support from Egypt,” The Egyptian Foreign Minister said.

Abdel Aati noted that his visit to Sudan was very important, as he met with all Sudanese leaders. “All the meetings witnessed warmth and friendliness that reflect the depth of the relationship and ties that bind the two countries, the two brotherly peoples and the leaderships of the two countries.”

The Minister added that all that concerns Egypt is stopping the ‘tragic war’ in Sudan and reaching an immediate ceasefire, and that Sudan regains its security and stability.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister continued affirmed that Sudan's security is Egypt's security, and that “our role is to provide all possible facilities and possible support to enable our Sudanese brothers to agree on a political solution within the framework of the civil state”

Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs said that he conveyed a message of friendship, solidarity and full appreciation from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan.

Abdel Ati also stressed that all the Sudanese officials and parties he met during his visit to Sudan extended their greetings and appreciation to President Sisi for his directives to take good care of the Sudanese people in Egypt.

"I felt the full appreciation for the Egyptian role towards Sudan during my meetings," Abdel Ati added.

The Foreign Minister also touched on the ceasefire efforts in the Gaza Strip, saying, “The Egyptian effort will not stop towards supporting Gaza and the speedy ceasefire, and we are working seriously, continuously and honestly to quickly reach an immediate ceasefire and stop this brutal Israeli aggression that has crossed all boundaries and violations that have occurred in the past.”

The Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, said that Egypt is working with the Arabs, especially Qatar, and friendly countries such as the United States of America and others, to work on a quick ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

He added, "We will not stop our efforts to stop the bloodshed of our Palestinian brothers, and the whole matter depends on the other side."

“We hope to use reason and realize that the arrogance of force will not achieve security and stability for Israel or the region, but only the restoration of the legitimate rights of Palestinian people through the establishment of their state on all their national soil. This is the only guarantee of security and stability for Israel and the region,” the Egyptian minster said.
