Cairo residents feel 4.86 magnitude earthquake that struck near Cyprus

CAIRO – 4 December 2024: The National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG) reported a 4.86 magnitude earthquake northwest of Cyprus on Wednesday, with numerous Cairo residents stating they felt the tremors.

The earthquake struck at 11:09 AM local time, 502 km away from Damietta, as per NRIAG data.

NRIAG assured that despite local reports of feeling the quake, there have been no indications of damages, casualties, or property loss resulting from the seismic activity.
