CAIRO – 2 December 2024: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Monday with Special Adviser to the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kombo Mondonjo Bola, and the President’s Adviser for Internal Security, Mr. Jack Tshisekedi.
The meeting was also attended by Head of the General Intelligence Service, Hassan Rashad.
Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said the Special Adviser to Congo’s President handed President El-Sisi a written message from President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Felix Tshisekedi, who affirmed his country's commitment to enhancing bilateral relations with Egypt across all areas.
President Sisi commended the positive momentum in the two countries’ relations, underscoring Egypt's willingness to expand cooperation with the Democratic Republic of the Congo to encompass all domains of mutual interest.
He confirmed Egypt’s interest in increasing Egyptian companies’ involvement in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, in alignment with Egypt's commitment to forging closer collaboration and establishing development projects in fellow African countries, particularly those within the Nile Basin.
The President asked that his greetings be conveyed to President Tshisekedi, reiterating Egypt's support for the Democratic Republic of the Congo's endeavors to achieve development, security, and stability.
The meeting also focused on developments in Africa and ways to foster peace and security in the continent. The Congolese official lauded Egypt’s efforts to support stability in Africa and the Middle East region, and lauded the growing cooperation between Egypt and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, in particular.
