CAIRO- 30 November 2024:  Egypt expressed its aspiration to host the International Hospital Federation (IHF) 49th Forum in Egypt in 2026.

 

Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the General Authority for Healthcare and General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Project, met with Ronald Lavater is the CEO of the International Hospital Federation (IHF) at the Authority’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital on Saturday.

 

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Authority’s fifth annual forum, which was held under the theme "Towards Globalization in Providing Healthcare Services" to mark the fifth anniversary of the official launch of Egypt’s comprehensive health insurance system.

 

The two officials also discussed preparations for the upcoming meetings of the International Hospital Federation, scheduled to take place in India at the end of February 2025. 

 

Dr. El-Sobky expressed his aspiration to host the Federation’s 49th Forum in Egypt in 2026, highlighting Egypt’s growing role as a leader in healthcare at both the regional and global levels.

 

Dr. El-Sobky emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation with the Federation to further develop healthcare services, transfer advanced expertise, and incorporate modern technologies and artificial intelligence to align with the best global practices. 

 

He also noted the ongoing collaboration with the Geneva Sustainability Center in Switzerland to support sustainability initiatives in healthcare and foster innovation, reaffirming the Authority’s commitment to partnering with global health institutions to advance the health system.
