PM: Egypt keen on success of Gaza Humanitarian Response Support Conference

CAIRO - 28 November 2024: Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly chaired the weekly government meeting on Thursday at its headquarters in the New Administrative Capital to discuss several key issues.

The prime minister started the meeting by highlighting recent significant discussions held by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to support efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region. In particular, he emphasized Egypt's commitment to the success of the Gaza Humanitarian Response Support Conference, which is set to be hosted by Cairo on December 2. 

He also mentioned the president's recent meeting with King Abdullah II of Jordan, where both leaders stressed the importance of the international community’s role in ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, and emphasized the pivotal role of the UNRWA in this regard.

In a similar context, Madbouly pointed to President El-Sisi’s meeting with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, prime minister and minister of foreign affairs of Qatar. The discussion focused on the situation in Gaza, efforts to cease hostilities, release hostages, and provide humanitarian aid without conditions.

Domestically, the prime minister also touched on the president's meeting with the heads of major international companies in the industrial sector during the third edition of the annual International Forum and Exhibition for Industries. 

Madbouly reiterated Egypt's strong commitment to stimulating the industrial sector through efforts to localize industries, promote specialized technological fields, and strengthen small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). 

He also emphasized the government's work to improve the investment climate, remove obstacles facing investors, and enhance the overall business environment.

In this context, the prime minister highlighted the significant developments in Egypt’s industrial sector, which he witnessed firsthand during the opening of the forum, held under the patronage of President El-Sisi. 

He stressed that the president’s sponsorship of the event reflects Egypt's dedication to fostering industrial growth and attracting investment, while also addressing challenges faced by the sector. The forum serves as a critical platform for discussing solutions, building partnerships with economic and industrial entities across the Arab world, Africa, and globally.

Finally, Madbouly extended his heartfelt thanks to Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel El-Wazir, deputy prime minister for industrial development and minister of industry and transport, for his role in organizing the successful event.
