Qatar, Egypt have political will to achieve qualitative leap in relations: FM Badr Abdel Aati

CAIRO – 27 November 2024: Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdel Aati, said that Egypt and Qatar have a political will to achieve a qualitative leap in relations between the two countries in all fields, and to enhance consultation and full coordination between the two countries on various regional and international issues of interest.

During a press conference with his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdel Rahman al-Thani on Wednesday, Minister of Foreign Affairs added that the Egyptian-Qatari efforts aimed to quickly reach a deal to stop the bloodshed of the Palestinian people and release all Palestinian hostages and prisoners.

Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdel Rahman al-Thani said that he is looking forward to taking part in a humanitarian conference to support Gaza, slated for December 2 in Egypt.

Speaking in the conference, he said his meetings in Egypt took up bilateral relations and economic cooperation.

He told reporters he had talks with Egyptian officials that focused on Qatari investments in Egypt.

Qatari Foreign Minister said he also discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in humanitarian fields, especially in light of the deteriorating conditions in Gaza and Sudan.

An agreement was reached with Egypt on joint projects to provide humanitarian support for Arab brethren, the Qatari foreign minister said
