CAIRO – 27 November 2024: Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri has called for expedited efforts to elect a new President of the Republic, emphasizing the need for a unifying leader who fosters solidarity rather than division among the Lebanese people.

In a televised address, Berri extended his gratitude to all parties involved in achieving a ceasefire agreement. He also expressed heartfelt thanks to nations that welcomed Lebanese citizens during challenging times, singling out Egypt, Syria, Iraq, and Qatar for their exceptional support.

The Speaker's appeal underscores the urgency of addressing Lebanon's political vacuum, which remains a critical factor in stabilizing the nation amidst ongoing regional and internal challenges.
