CAIRO – 25 November 2024: Amr Hanafy, Governor of the Red Sea, announced the successful rescue of 28 individuals following the sinking of the tourist boat Sea Story near Marsa Alam. Efforts remain underway to locate 17 missing passengers.
The governor highlighted that the naval frigate Al-Fateh and military aircraft continue to comb the area in collaboration with the Maritime Rescue Center and the governorate’s operations room. The rescued individuals are receiving necessary medical care as search efforts intensify to locate the remaining passengers.
Hanafy assured that rescue teams are working tirelessly around the clock to expedite the operation while adhering to strict safety protocols. He expressed his gratitude to all agencies involved, commending the armed forces and field teams for their swift and coordinated response to the incident.
The governor emphasized the importance of closely monitoring developments and pledged to provide timely updates as new information becomes available.
