CAIRO – 25 November 2024: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al Sisi issued on Monday 3 decrees to form the Supreme Council for Media Regulation headed by Khaled Mahmoud Abdel Aziz, the National Press Authority headed by Abdel Sadek El-Shorbagy, and the National Media Authority headed by Ahmed El-Maslamani.
According to the decrees The National Media Authority will be formed for a period of four years headed by Ahmed Mohamed Mahmoud Al-Maslamani and the membership of each of the following:
1 - Counselor Hammad Makram Tawfiq Mohamed - Vice President of the State Council
2 - Khaled Mohamed Ibrahim Mohamed Noufal - Representing the Ministry of Finance
3 - Walid Zakaria Ali Ahmed - Representing the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority
4 - Osama Kamal Helmy Ahmed – as a public and experienced figure
5 - Reham Wagih Abdel Salam Al-Deeb - as a public and experienced figure
6 - Hala Farouk Mohamed Hashesh - Representing the Media Syndicate
7 - Sami Abdel Salam Saadoun - Representing the General Syndicate of Press, Printing and Media Workers
8 - Safia Mustafa Amin Youssef - as a public figure
The National Press Authority will be formed for a period of four years headed by Abdel Sadek Mohamed El-Shorbagy and the membership of:
1 - Mahmoud Fouad Mahmoud Ammar - Vice President of the State Council
2 - Yasser Samir Sobhi - Representing the Ministry of Finance
3 - Alaa El-Din Kamal Mohamed Thabet - as a public and experienced figure
4 - Amr Raafat Mohamed El-Khayat - as a public and experienced figure
5 - Hamdi Othman Ashour Othman Rizk - Representing the National Press
6 - Sameh Sami Mahrous Rizk Allah - Representing the National Press
7 - Osama Saeed Mohamed Othman Abu Pasha - Representing workers in national press institutions
The Supreme Council for Media Regulation will also be formed for a period of four years headed by Khaled Mahmoud Abdel Aziz Mahmoud and the membership of:
1 - Abdel Salam Abdel Majeed Abdel Salam El Naggar - Vice President of the State Council
2 - Mahmoud Ahmed Mumtaz - Head of the Competition Protection and Anti-Monopoly Authority
3 - Hossam Abdel Mawla Saqr - Representing the National Telecom Regulatory Authority
4 - Abdel Mohsen Salama Othman Seif El Din - as a public and experienced figure
5 - Olaa Kamal El Sayed El Shafei - Journalist
6 - Essam El Amir Ismail Khalil - Media Professional
7 - Adel Mohamed Ibrahim Hamouda - as a public and experienced figure
8 - Mona Mohamed Saeed El Hadidi - Representing the Supreme Council of Universities
