Unstable weather, Monday: drop in temperature, active winds, rain and disturbed navigation

CAIRO – 25 November 2024: Egypt’s General Authority for Meteorology announced, that Monday’s weather conditions expected to be unstable, and to witness a decrease in temperatures, rain in the north of the country, active winds, and disruption of maritime navigation.

The Authority explained the expected weather phenomena will include continued decrease in temperatures in most parts along with active winds in most parts, which increases the feeling of cold weather.

It added further that their will be disturbance of maritime navigation in the Mediterranean Sea and that wind speed will be (70:50 km/h) and wave height (5:3 m).

Another disturbance of maritime navigation in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Suez will be witnessed as wind speed will be (60:50 km/h) and wave height (3:2:5 m).

Moderate rain in areas of the northeastern coasts at intermittent intervals also will be seen according to the general Authority for Meteorology.

Light rain might be expected in areas of the northwestern coasts, Lower Egypt, central Sinai, the Canal cities and scattered areas of Greater Cairo extending lightly to areas of northern Upper Egypt at intermittent intervals.

The Meteorological Authority explained the expected maximum and minimum temperatures of Monday as follows:

Greater Cairo: 19 - 14 °C

 Alexandria: 18 - 15 °C

Marsa Matrouh: 19 - 15 °C

 Sohag: 22 -14 °C

Qena: 22 15 °C

 Aswan: 22 - 15 °C
