Egypt expresses interest in joint manufacturing with Uzbekistan

CAIRO – 24 November 2024: Ambassador to Tashkent Tamer Hammad met with Uzbek Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov, expressing interest in partnering up on the joint manufacturing of pharmaceuticals, textiles, and leather products.

 

The ambassador also expressed readiness to train Uzbek labor on gold jewelry design, and to export citrus, vegetables, and fruits. Hence, the two sides discussed preparations to hold the seventh meeting of the joint committee to set tangible plans.

 

Uzbek Minister of Higher Education, Sciences and Innovation Kungirotboy Sharipov expressed in May interest in collaborating with the Egyptian universities in the fields of medicine, agriculture, chemistry, engineering, technology, engineering, information technology, artificial intelligence, water management, and energy.

 

The minister said that Egyptian universities were welcomed to open branches in Uzbekistan, and that his country was considering teaching the Arabic language and literature at Uzbek establishments.

 

Minister Sharipov's statements came during a meeting with Former Egyptian Ambassador to Tashkent Amira Fahmy to discuss building upon the existing cooperation taking the form of the flow of Egyptian students to Uzbek universities. That is in addition to the work of visiting professors from Egyptian universities at Uzbek counterparts.
