CAIRO – 21 November 2024: Egypt is about to experience a cool-down of 3-4 degrees in temperatures across most regions, with a touch of wind adding to that chilly vibe.
In the northern parts, there is even a chance of rain kicking in from Sunday.
Currently, Cairo, the north coast, and northern Upper Egypt are basking in 26 degrees Celsius during the day, according to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA).
Come Monday, these areas will see daytime temperatures drop to 22, 20, and 22 degrees, respectively.
Even the southern parts of Upper Egypt, known for its scorching summer heat, will see a pleasant drop, with daytime highs hitting 24 degrees by Monday, a refreshing change from the current 28-29.
From Thursday to Tuesday, the EMA predicts cool nights and mornings, with moderate daytime weather across the country.
Thus, it is shaping up to be the perfect time for a getaway.
Whether you are headed to the lovely Red Sea city of Hurghada or the captivating Sharm El-Sheikh, where the sea meets the mountains, expect a warm embrace all day long.
Just a heads-up: Keep an eye out for the “Rest of Maknasa (Sweeper)” storm set to sweep through Alexandria and other northern coastal cities starting Friday, lasting for a 4-day spell. This storm typically brings some rain and a hint of southwestern winds.
