14 martyrs, 87 injuries as result of Israeli aggression on Lebanon during past 24 hours

CAIRO- 20 November 2024: The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday that the Israeli shelling over Lebanon has resulted in 14 martyrs and 87 injured during the past 24 hours.

According to al Qahera news channel, the total number of victims of the Israeli aggression on Lebanon rose to 3558 martyrs and 15123 injured.

An American official said in statements, Wednesday that there is ‘positive progress’ in the ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Lebanon and that ‘it is time to make decisions.’

Najib Mikati, the caretaker prime minister in Lebanon, expressed his hope that a ceasefire agreement with Israel would be announced, and said that he did not think that reaching an agreement was possible until after the US presidential elections.

Reports are being circulated on a possible agreement to be concluded within days between Lebanon and Israel that guarantees a ceasefire for a period of 60 days, and according to the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation, the draft agreement stipulates an initial truce for a period of 60 days.

The United States envoy Amos Hochstein was expected to head to Beirut on Tuesday, according to two Lebanese official sources cited by CNN which was seen as a sign of progress in ceasefire negotiations.

During his visit, Amos met several Lebanese officials. He announced on Tuesday that the gaps between Hezbollah and Israel had “narrowed”, raising optimism about a deal between the two parties.

The U.S. envoy Amos Hochstein expected to meet with the Israeli Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, on Thursday.
