CAIRO – 19 November 2024: On the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held discussions with Nigerian President Bola Tinubu.

 

According to the Egyptian presidency, the meeting emphasized enhancing cooperation between Egypt and Nigeria in various sectors, including economy, trade, investment, and healthcare. Both leaders agreed on the importance of exchanging expertise in combating terrorism and extremism to bolster regional security.

 

The discussion focused on peace and security across Africa, exploring strategies to establish sustainable stability, safeguard the sovereignty of African nations, and maintain their independence.

 

The leaders also emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration under the African Union framework to advance the interests and aspirations of African populations.

 

The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to achieving the objectives of Agenda 2063, the African Union’s strategic framework for transforming the continent into a global powerhouse of sustainable development and prosperity.
