Egypt grants exceptional visit to prisoners on occasion of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence

CAIRO- 16 November 2024: On the occasion of the "16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence" campaign, which will start its activities during the period from November 25 to December 10, the  Ministry of Interior will grant the male and female inmates an exceptional visit, the Ministry announced in a statement on Saturday. 

The schedule of the visits were set to be during the period between November 16 and December 5, the statement added.

The Interior Ministry gives all forms of support and care to inmates of correctional and rehabilitation centers and provides the opportunity to meet their families on various occasions, the statement continued.

This comes within the framework of the Ministry of Interior's keenness to uphold human rights values, implement the penal policy with its modern approach, and provide various aspects of care for inmates.
