CAIRO- 15- November 2024: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Badr Abdelatty met, on Friday, with the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the German Bundestag, Michael Roth, on the sidelines of the 15th Sir Bani Yas Forum in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

 

Abdelatty stressed that Egypt cares about strengthening relations with Germany in various fields, specifically supporting economic and development cooperation between the two countries, and encouraging German investments in Egypt, especially from major German companies.

 

The Foreign Minister also touched on developments in the Middle East, especially in the Gaza Strip, where he reviewed Egypt's tireless efforts with regional and international partners to reach an immediate ceasefire in the Strip and release hostages and prisoners, as the main key to calming the situation in the region.

 

He also stressed the importance of doubling the international humanitarian response to the needs of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip in light of the humanitarian catastrophe they are suffering from as due to the Israeli occupation army's gross violations of international law and international humanitarian law and obstructing the access of humanitarian aid. 

 

The German official expressed their appreciation for the Egyptian mediation efforts.

 

Meanwhile, Abdelatty held a meeting with his Cypriot counterpart, Constantinos Kombos. They  discussed the file of employing Egyptian workers in Cyprus.
