Egyptian Foreign Minister of Badr Abdelatty and South African Minister of International Relations and International Cooperation Ronald Lamola participated in the Egyptian-South African Joint Business Forum
CAIRO- 14- November 2024: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Badr Abdelatty and South African Minister of International Relations and International Cooperation Ronald Lamola participated, on Thursday, in the Egyptian-South African Joint Business Forum held at the headquarters of the Investment Authority.
The forum was held with the aim of activating cooperation between the business communities and enhancing trade, investment and economic development in the two countries.
Minister Abdelatty stressed that the forum comes with full support from the leaderships of the two countries, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and President Cyril Ramaphosa, President of the Republic of South Africa, and upon a direct recommendation from the 10th session of the Joint Committee between the two countries.
Abdelatty added that the forum is considered an essential step towards establishing a joint business council, creating a suitable business climate, and benefiting from the promising energies in the two countries to serve the interests of the two peoples. He also highlighted the role of the private sector, which represents the main locomotive for achieving sustainable development by promoting economic cooperation, developing skills, and encouraging innovation.
The Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs pointed out that the positive political climate prevailing between the two countries is one of the main pillars that contribute to encouraging the business communities to cooperate and explore promising trade and investment opportunities in the two countries.
He further shed light on the importance of directing the private sector in the two countries to the fields and sectors that represent the nucleus for achieving a qualitative shift in the nature and level of trade and investment exchange between two of the largest economies on the African continent.
