CAIRO - 14 November 2024: The Interior Ministry will stop receiving applications for lottery Hajj pilgrimage of 1446 AH (2025) season on Saturday, state’s news agency MENA reported.

Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfiq gave directives to present the best services to pilgrims at the lowest prices, a senior security source told the agency.

The ministry started receiving the applications on October 30.

Hajj, one of the world's largest religious gatherings, involves a series of rituals in Mecca and its surroundings. This year, 1445 AH, it will span from June 4 to 9, 2025.

Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam, and every capable Muslim is required to perform it at least once in their lifetime, provided they possess the physical and financial means.
