During the meeting, the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs also condemned the brutal Israeli aggression on Lebanese territory and the violation of Lebanese sovereignty, affirming Egypt's steadfast support for Lebanon's security and safety.

He also communicated with His Eminence Sheikh Abdul Latif Derian, Mufti of the Lebanese Republic, where he confirmed Egypt's full support for Lebanon in light of the current circumstances

Dr. Badr Abdel Aati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, also communicated during his visit to Beirut with His Beatitude Patriarch Bechara Boutros Al-Rai, Patriarch of the Maronite Church, where he confirmed Egypt's full support for Lebanon in the current circumstances, stressing the Egyptian side's keenness on Lebanon's sovereignty and unity, as well as the importance Egypt attaches to strengthening the role of Lebanese state institutions.

In addition to this, Abdelatty, during a meeting with Commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces Joseph Aoun in Beirut Wednesday, praised the role played by the Lebanese army to maintain Lebanon's stability despite grave challenges.

The top diplomat stressed Egypt's full support for Lebanon against the Israeli assaults that blatantly violate international law, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Tamim Khallaf.

Abdelatty touched upon contacts made by Egypt with the different regional and international parties to reach a ceasefire, implement resolution 1701 and enable the Lebanese army to control the south of the country, Khallaf added.

Cairo is following with concern the aggravating displacement crisis in Lebanon and is acting to intensify the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Lebanese people, Abdelatty told Aoun.

He underscored directives by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to provide full support for Lebanon in such critical humanitarian circumstances.

The foreign minister said Egypt perceives the presidential election in Lebanon as a pivotal first step on the road toward empowering Lebanese state institutions, stressing that a consensual president would certainly fill the gap and help maintain Lebanon's stability.
