Egyptian Researcher wins ALECSO innovation award for young arab researchers

Hany Nasser Abdelhamid, Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Assiut University, has won the ALECSO Innovation Award for Young Arab Researchers in its sixth session at the University of Sharjah, 2024.

CAIRO – 13 November 2024: Ayman Ashour, Egypt's Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chairman of Egypt’s National Commission for Education, Science, and Culture (UNESCO - ALECSO - ICESCO), highlighted the vital role of Egypt’s National Commission in advancing projects and programs with UNESCO, ALECSO, and ICESCO. This collaboration supports Egypt’s Vision 2030 for sustainable development.

 

In this context, the Egyptian National Commission for Education, Science, and Culture, in partnership with the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), announced that Hany Nasser Abdelhamid, Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Assiut University, has won the ALECSO Innovation Award for Young Arab Researchers in its sixth session at the University of Sharjah, 2024.

 

Abdelhamid shared the award in the first category for his research titled "Zeolitic Imidazolate Frameworks Loaded on Hydrogen Titanate Nanotubes for Efficient Adsorption and Catalytic Oxidation of Organic Dyes and Microplastics."

 

The award ceremony for Abdelhamid will take place at the Sharjah Arab Universities Twinning Forum, set to be held at the University of Sharjah later this month. This recognition celebrates innovative research addressing environmental issues in the Arab world.
