CAIRO – 13 November 2024: Egypt will take part in G20 summit held in Rio de Janeiro on Monday upon an invitation from Brazilian President Lula da Silva to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

This is Egypt’s fourth participation in G20 summits.

Assistant Foreign Minister for Regional and International Economic Affairs Presidential Personal Representative to G20 and BRICS Ragy El-Etreby said that the participation reflects Egypt’s position regionally and internationally.

He also highlighted Egypt’s effective role in the main international economic issues and files in addition to its promising future in the huge projects.

Egypt’s participation in the meetings of G20 comes at a time that the group faces increasing challenges in light of the global successive crises since the spread of coronavirus in addition to the repercussions of the Ukrainian crisis and the Israeli blatant aggression against Palestine.

The relations between Egypt and Brazil have witnessed a big leap in the past ten years especially after the visit of the Brazilian president to Egypt in February where they agreed on upgrading bilateral relations to the level of strategic partnership.

During the meeting, both ministers agreed on the need to benefit from the available expertise and potentials to expand the range of involvement in regional and international markets especially in Africa.
