CAIRO – 7 November 2024: Egypt and Angola have inked a cooperation agreement in the realm of defense and military technologies during a meeting between Egyptian Minister of Defense and Military Production Abdel Meguid Saqr and his Angolan counterpart, Joao Ernesto dos Santos.
The signing ceremony, hosted by Egypt, was attended by Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Ahmed Khalifa and several commanders from both the Egyptian and Angolan armed forces.
Saqr expressed gratitude for the strong ties between the Egyptian armed forces and those of other African nations, commending the ongoing collaborative efforts across various military sectors.
The Angolan minister of national defense and veterans of the homeland praised the bonds between Egypt and Angola and highlighted Egypt's dedication to supporting African issues.
During their discussions, Saqr and dos Santos agreed to enhance military cooperation across a range of areas between their respective countries. They also delved into regional and international developments and their implications for African security and stability.
Over the past years, Egypt has bolstered its military partnerships with several African nations.
In August, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud oversaw the signing of a military cooperation protocol between their countries during a meeting in Cairo.
