CAIRO- 4 November 2024: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with President of the Sovereign Council of Sudan, Lt. General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, on the sidelines of the 12th edition of the World Urban Forum in Cairo, on Monday.

 

Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Ahmed Fahmy, said that during the meeting the two sides underscored the robust and profound historical ties between the two brotherly countries, at both the official and popular levels.



President El-Sisi emphasized Egypt's persistent support for Sudan at all levels to help it emerge from its current crisis. The President reiterated Egypt's firm and steadfast position, aimed at achieving a ceasefire and ending the bloodshed in Sudan. President El-Sisi reviewed Egypt's efforts, at both the regional and international levels, to promote this goal.

 

Lt. General Al-Burhan valued Egypt's role, and commended its sincere support for efforts toward de-escalation in Sudan.

 

He acknowledged Egypt's keenness on maintaining Sudan's unity, territorial integrity, and stability, confirming his as well as the Sudanese people’s appreciation for the Egyptian people for hosting their Sudanese brothers during the crisis.
