CAIRO- 4 November 2024: On the sidelines of the 12th session of the UN’s World Urban Forum, which is being held in Cairo from November 4 to 8, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Monday.

 

President Sisi affirmed Egypt's leadership and people's support for the Palestinian cause, and the rejection of all forms of Israeli escalation against the Palestinian people in Gaza or the West Bank. 

 

President Sisi also stressed that Egypt is exerting intensive efforts aimed at calming, ceasing the fire, and delivering humanitarian aid, and working, at the same time, to protect the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on the lines of June 4, 1967, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions, said the Egyptian Presidency in a statement.

 

Additionally, President affirmed Egypt's support for the Palestinian Authority, and its great efforts to help the reach understandings and consensus in visions among all segments of the Palestinian people, to ensure facing the serious challenges and threats facing the Palestinian cause in this critical historical circumstance.

 

For his part, the Palestinian President discussed the latest developments and expressed his deep gratitude for the historic role and strenuous efforts that Egypt is continuously making to support the Palestinian cause.

 

President Abbas stressed that the Palestinian people are aware of and appreciate Egypt's supportive role, and what it has provided and continues to provide in support of Palestine at all levels.
