CAIRO – 1 November 2024: Autumn is rolling in, bringing a refreshing change to Cairo and northern Egypt this week. After enduring the scorching heat and dry spells of summer, the prospect of rain is like a breath of fresh air for many Egyptians.
The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) is painting a picture of rain showers across various regions.
Today, we are looking at a mix of moderate to heavy rain, possibly with some thunder, in Matrouh, Alexandria, Beheira, Kafr El Sheikh, Dakahlia, and Gharbia governorates.
Also today, Menoufia, Sharqia, Damietta, Port Said, and Ismailia are on the radar for some light to moderate rain, potentially joined by a rumble of thunder.
As night falls, parts of Cairo, Giza, and Qalyubia are poised for a sprinkle of light to moderate rain.
The rainy days are set to continue through the weekend, with the North Coast and northern Nile Delta gearing up for heavy rain and thunder on Saturday and Sunday. From Monday to Wednesday, expect more of the wet stuff, so keep that trusty umbrella close by.
Matrouh might find itself in the midst of moderate to heavy rain, occasionally with thunder over the weekend. During this time, the Red Sea mountains, northeastern coasts, and cities along the Suez Canal could also embrace some rainy spells.
When it comes to temperatures, the EMA anticipates unsettled weather in the northern regions until Wednesday, along with a slight dip in the mercury.
Stay tuned for more updates from the EMA as they keep us informed about the ever-changing weather conditions.
