CAIRO - 30 October 2024: The Chinese Ambassador to Egypt, Liao Liqiang, has emphasized the strong and growing relationship between China and Egypt, stating that it has injected positive energy into the development of the Global South.

 

The ambassador highlighted the two countries' cooperation in promoting peace and security in the Middle East, mediating the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, and providing humanitarian assistance to displaced Palestinians in Gaza.

 

Ambassador Liao expressed his optimism regarding the future of Sino-Egyptian relations, particularly after the recent BRICS summit in Kazan. He highlighted the strong support expressed by Chinese President Xi Jinping for Egypt's sovereignty, security, and development goals.

 

The ambassador emphasized the importance of continued mutual support between the two countries, deepening practical cooperation, and building the Belt and Road Initiative with high quality. He also noted the significance of the upcoming year, which marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Egypt.

 

Regarding the BRICS summit in Kazan, Ambassador Liao highlighted the growing influence of the Global South and the importance of BRICS in reshaping the global order. He emphasized the need for the Global South to remain united and cooperative in addressing common challenges and promoting global development.
