CAIRO - 30 October 2024: Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly chaired a meeting to review the final preparations for hosting the 12th World Urban Forum in Cairo from November 4-8. The meeting was attended by several ministers, including the Minister of Local Development, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities.

 

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of ensuring that all aspects of the forum are well-coordinated and executed to the highest standards. The meeting discussed various logistical arrangements, the conference agenda, and the expected number of participants.

 

According to the official spokesperson for the Cabinet, over 24,000 people from 180 countries have registered to attend the forum. The event is expected to attract 103 ministers, 36 deputy ministers, and 300 governors, as well as numerous heads of state and international officials.

 

A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to reviewing the agenda for the forum, which includes a variety of sessions, panel discussions, and exhibitions. The event will feature an urban exhibition with over 115 exhibitors and will involve 900 volunteers.

 

The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of ensuring the smooth movement of participants and providing necessary medical services. The Cabinet has coordinated with the Ministry of Health to provide mobile clinics, ambulances, and on-site medical facilities at the event venue.
