FM discusses procedures of new work visas for Egyptians in Qatar

CAIRO- 27 October 2024: Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Badr Abdelatty participated today in a virtual meeting with a number of members of the Egyptian community in Qatar on Sunday.

 

The meeting was attended by Ambassador Nabil Habashi, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, and Ambassador Amr El-Sherbiny, the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Qatar.

 

Minister Abdelatty stressed the keenness of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration to facilitate consular services for members of the Egyptian community and digitize these consular services to speed up them.

 

The Minister expressed his keenness to follow up on the conditions of the Egyptian community in Qatar, noting that he had previously met with representatives of the community during his visit to Doha on July 31.

 

Abdelatty reviewed a number of consular topics, most notably the issue of providing new work visas for Egyptians in Qatar in six sectors including petroleum, tourism, information technology, transportation, health and education, in addition to launching a number of initiatives to serve Egyptians abroad, including the car initiative and the initiative to settle the military status and other initiatives that aim to provide tangible services.

 

The Minister of Foreign Affairs also referred to the vital role played by Egyptian communities in supporting Egypt, especially in light of the regional and international challenges it faces, which require the concerted efforts of all citizens of the country, whether at home or abroad, to preserve national interests.

 

He stressed the Egyptian state's keenness to develop communication mechanisms with Egyptian communities abroad, and to provide facilities and benefits that enhance their connection with their homeland .
